There are numerous department stores, shops and boutiques in Tampere. The city is known for factory outlets whose goods include Finlayson textiles, Palmroth shoes and leather. Most shops are open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., while the department stores close at 9 p.m. On Saturdays the shops are open from 9 a.m. and close between 2 and 6 p.m. In summer the department stores are also open on Sundays.
Popular souvenirs from Finland include items made from Finnish wood and Finnish glass products.
