Dinners & Receptions
The City of Tampere often organizes a complimentary cocktail party for congress delegates at the Old City Hall. The reception can also be held at Museum Centre Vapriikki by the Tammerkoski rapids.
For larger congresses, the restaurant at Scandic Hotel Rosendahl is the perfect venue for gala dinners. The hotel is situated by Lake Pyhäjärvi and has a dining room with seating for up to 1,000 people. The dining room has large windows all round for a magnificent view over the lake and surrounding parkland. Scandic Hotel Rosendahl also has its own jetty and can be reached by boat. The boat journey from the city centre takes about 20 minutes.
The Old Customs House, located only 100 metres from Tampere Hall, has a historic air with its redbrick walls and fascinating past. This venue can seat up to 500 dinner guests and host cocktail parties for up to 1,000.
The centre of Tampere is characterized by charming old industrial buildings. A unique venue for conference dinners is the oldest factory building in Finland, the six-storey cotton mill, Kuusvooninkinen. Today it has been carefully refurbished to accommodate dinners, feasts and receptions for up to 500 people.
If your congress at Tampere Hall doesn’t include an exhibition, the gala dinner can be arranged in the Park Hall. The elegant hall can cater for 1,000 banquet guests and has room for 1,500 during cocktail parties.
Dinners for smaller congresses can be enjoyed on Viikinsaari Island, in a beautiful wood-built restaurant with seating for 280 people. The island is only a 20-minute boat ride from the city centre and has a dance floor and two saunas. Viikinsaari is also a wonderful setting for informal outdoor parties which can be arranged for up to 2,000 people.
